A Weed the River Didn’t Want, Reimagined for Everyday Use

Water hyacinth is a fast-spreading invasive aquatic plant that can form dense mats across ponds, lakes, and other water bodies, disrupting aquatic ecosystems. Instead of allowing harvested biomass to go to waste, it is cleaned, dried, flattened, and compressed into durable sheets.

Meet the Maker

Crafted by Scrapshala’s artisan partners in Rajasthan, each diary passes through skilled hands for material preparation, cutting, stitching, binding, and finishing. Because the water hyacinth surface retains its natural texture, subtle variations make every piece unique.
