This work reads like an excavation of memory: a pale, luminous core scraped forward from a field of muted earth tones, where erasure becomes as expressive as mark-making. The composition’s diagonal, rib-like strokes create a tense architecture of passageways, while finer, etched lines bloom outward like brittle nerves or rootlets—suggesting both vulnerability and persistence. Light seems to seep from beneath the surface rather than fall upon it, turning the central form into a relic suspended between growth and decay. In its restrained palette and restless texture, the piece evokes a meditation on transformation—how something living can be recorded as a trace, and how a trace can still pulse with presence.
