This exquisite sculpture depicts Lord Shiva doing the wild, and divine Tandava dance. There are 108 karanas (a combination of hand gestures and feet to form a dance posture) in Tandava. In this particular posture, Shiva is holding agni (fire) and a damroo (drum) in two of his hands. His head is held back, and the right leg kicks back very high. Two of his four arms are stretched out. The entire posture depicts action and power. This beautiful piece is made using the lost wax technique.
