Rama's Coronation

A very common subject in Tanjore paintings, Rama's Coronation depicts the scene when he returned to be crowned as the king of Ayodhya, after his defeat of Ravana. Lord Rama is surrounded by his wife Sita, and his brothers Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan. Many rishis can be seen on one side. Below, Hanuman is seen along with Sugriva, Vaanars as well as some of Ravana's followers who transitioned to Rama's army during the war.
