This Eastman Kodak Brownie No 2 camera, Model D, is from 1910/20s. Made in America, the retro cardboard box camera with a meniscus lens, viewfinder and a handle comes in its original packaging. The Brownie series is considered iconic as it introduced candid photographs to the masses (famously known as β€˜snapshots’ in the 19th century). Invented by Frank A. Brownell, and released by the Eastman Kodak Company in 1900, the long-running Brownie series was popular for its handy and inexpensive range of cameras. The Kodak Brownie No 2 was a limited series box camera manufactured from 1901 to 1935. It was the first camera series to use 120 roll film and had 6 different models - A through F. Model D was manufactured around 1914. Many iconic shots were taken with brownies, and many are still in use by film photographers.
