This work stages architecture as a vessel for memory, where a procession of monumental columns and scalloped arches recedes into shadow, turning perspective into a quiet act of devotion. Warm washes of ochre and sienna catch on edges like late-afternoon light, while the cool, cavernous distance at the far end holds an echoing stillness that tempers the glow with solemnity. The small, scattered figures—dwarfed by the stone—animate the space not as protagonists but as witnesses, suggesting the enduring weight of history against the brevity of passing lives. In the granular speckling and softened contours, the scene dissolves slightly at its margins, as though the place is being remembered as much as it is being seen.
