Gravitas Static Rope. Gravitas is the latest rope innovation in Marlow’s 200+ year history, engineered for a variety of rope access operations. New for 2026, this rope will be your go to for ascending, descending, and work positioning.

It is a high-strength 11mm static rope with one of the lowest elongations on the market: 1.7% at 300lbs (NFPA). This rope is by far the best in its class! Even more impressive than the data, is its handling. Gravitas has superior knotability, and not just for tying the knot, it’s also easy to untie after it has been loaded. The nylon core keeps it supple and round, while the burly polyester cover gives it excellent resistance to abrasion and UV as well as strength retention when wet.
