The work stages a face as a palimpsest—its features partially dissolved into layered textures and geometric shards—suggesting an identity assembled from memory, abrasion, and time. A flare of ember reds presses in from the left like urgency or heat, while the central ochre glow reads as an inner lantern, a fragile clarity fighting through soot-dark veils. The fractured planes behave like broken glass or shifting architecture, turning portraiture into a psychological terrain where presence is felt more than stated. In this tension between illumination and erasure, the piece becomes a meditation on how the self is continually rewritten by what scorches it and what survives.
