The Ravi Varma Press allowed many artists to create designs and paintings which would be used to create oleographs, postcards and textile labels. One such artist who worked for the Ravi Varma Press was C G Ramanujam.
This oleograph by C G Ramanujam is from 1925, and depicts Lord Krishna with Radha, his eternal consort and Rukmini, his chief consort. The artwork, carrying the artist's signature and year, appears inspired by the Tanjore style of painting. It has undergone time related wear and tear, with water stains at the bottom and a tear at the bottom right.
