Its persistence wore me down like a gentle river carving through rocks. I did not know when I came to love it so much that I missed it even when it was right there before my eyes, glistening in the rain. The little ambush of ferns at the foot of the gate had entered into more than just my home, it had become a soothing friend, always there to treat my senses to a magnificent green that it was too modest to show off!
