Story

As a working mother, guilt was her constant companion. It didn’t help that she had no support in her family, no one to stand up for her. Late one evening, her friend who she hadn’t spoken to in months called her. She realised that her friend, who she’d perceived as an ideal working mother, was plagued by the same guilt as she. It felt like they could never do enough. But that day, both of them pledged to make some time for themselves every single day, no matter how hectic their schedules were. They would garden, sew, learn dancing, read or do anything that their hearts desired, for this hour. This would be sacred. It would be their refuge.

Practice became habit and she realised what she’d been missing all along – the ability to slow down and relax. The world would always rush along at a frantic pace; but she could always take a moment to breathe.
