This work renders repose as a kind of devotion: the bull’s heavy head rests into the earth-toned plane like an altar stone, while jeweled adornments and filigreed patterns elevate the animal from subject to sanctified presence. Warm ochres and siennas create a hushed, enclosing atmosphere, and the soft fall of drapery—painted with tactile, near-sculptural attention—becomes a second skin that both protects and ceremonially veils. The composition’s low horizon and intimate cropping invite a quiet empathy, suggesting a meditation on dignity, labor, and the tenderness hidden within strength.
