If your E36 or E46 feels "loose" when cornering, these rear trailing arm bushings may be the culprit. When the bushings become excessively worn, the rear toe (the angle that the tire points in or out) will change under load and cause this "loose" feeling. Typically these bushings need to be replaced at 50,000 miles or within 3 years. If you have high demands on your handling, then they will need to be replaced more frequently!
