The first time shed tasted a jamun, it had been described to her as a black plum. But, somehow, that name didnt do it justice. The juicy fruit with its tell-tale violet stain deserved an identity of its own, she thought. And so, when on a hike, she discovered a jamun tree in the wild and learnt what it was locally called, it all made sense.
