Saraswati is the Hindu Goddess of knowledge, wisdom, music, and the arts. She is often depicted with four hands instead of two, holding a Veena (musical instrument) along with a Japamala (prayer beads). The artwork has been dressed elaborately with sequins, zari work, and beads, increasing the beauty of the deity.
This oleograph is by Raja Ravi Varma and carries the artist's signature. The artwork is in good condition, but the frame has undergone some time related wear and tear.
