The work stages a lush, dreamlike pastoral where two emerald-skinned figures move with the poise of dancers, their elongated gestures echoing the curling arabesques of the tree above. Saturated reds and warm ochres press in like heated air, making the cool blues of the blossoms and garments feel like sudden wells of calm—sensual, but also devotional. Ornament and anatomy are flattened into rhythmic bands and contours, turning the scene into a visual mantra about desire disciplined into grace, and nature’s abundance as a canopy of protection and temptation. The recurring stripes, jewelry, and blossoms create a looping cadence that suggests cyclical time: youth, longing, and renewal repeating beneath the same flowering bough.
