This work stages a quiet, theatrical confrontation between flat planes of color and a handful of emblematic formsβan anchored black bowtie, a suspended crescent, and a lollipop-like finialβeach hovering like a coded gesture within a simplified interior. The saturated reds and ochres press forward with heat and insistence, while the cool turquoise base reads as a floor of emotional distance, creating a tension between intimacy and detachment. Texture, scraped and layered, interrupts the graphic clarity, suggesting memory beneath the surface polish, as if the scene is both a still life and an encoded portrait. In its restrained drama, the painting meditates on identity as assemblage: posture, costume, and object distilled into symbols that feel at once playful and quietly disquieting.
