This work stages an intimate collision between the human and the animal, where a closed-eyed visage is partially veiled by dark, architectural bands, as if memory itself has been spliced and reassembled. Warm ochres and bruised charcoals create a hush of interiority, while the horse’s pale head—rendered with tender solidity—leans in like a guardian presence, both protective and uncanny. The vertical gold drips read as time made visible: traces of gilding that sanctify the scene even as they suggest erosion, insisting that devotion and fracture can occupy the same breath.
