Great fitting pattern, fitted through the hip which is flattering. I like the design of the front side pocket. I’ve made 3 pairs, changing the width of the leg and all look quite different, My favourite is a mid weight denim with some drape. They look kick a$$ with boots. I made the straight-leg version in some cotton twill and added back pockets. I much prefer the fit of the wide leg version.

Note the sizing, particularly if using non stretch canvas. I wear a US size zero or two, but needed the size six in this pattern to fit over my hips. Note, too, that there are now new instructions that flip some of the fly instructions for a women’s vs men’s style - do not alternate between the two sets of instructions for the fly. Once I figured out the sizing, straightforward and well-fitting.
