This work stages a hulking steam locomotive as a relic of industrial willpower, its circular headlamp rendered like a tired, watchful eye that peers through a haze of time. The composition is built from dense, interlocking contours—mechanical ribs and piping—while ochre, flame-like arabesques lick across the engine’s mass, transforming metal into a living, restless presence. Muted sky tones and softened edges dissolve the scene into memory, suggesting progress not as triumph but as something already being reclaimed by atmosphere and dust. What remains is a quiet tension between engineered certainty and the organic drift of entropy, as if the machine’s roar has been translated into a slow, elegiac breath.
