The SupraPhonics have been used in countless recordings and stage shows over the years and it's easy to hear why.  The 5”x14” SupraPhonic is bright, penetrating, colorful and direct, with multiple sweet spots and tuning ranges.  The larger 6-1/2”x14” SupraPhonic has these same characteristics but is capable of a deeper tuning range and heavier, fatter tone.  In this size, the SupraPhonic snare drum really excels as a hard rock snare as well as for large jazz and concert bands.

The beaded shell design, a LUDWIG SupraPhonic hallmark, keeps the shell very stiff and perfectly round.  It also contributes to the resonance of the shell.
