Restaurant at The Berkeley Hotel, London by Donald Edward Green (British, 1925-2010)
Pen and ink drawing/illustration, 1976
Signed ‘Donald E. Green’

This is the original illustration commissioned by Tatler from the artist and illustrator Donald Green, for their review of the restaurant at the then new Berkeley Hotel in London, opened in 1976.

Although the illustration is in black and white, the colours of the room are described in the article (and on the reverse of the item); ‘Originality is given to the calm and cool decor, with its white marble inlaid with gold, its wisteria shades and white silk curtains, by six glowing illuminated glass panels’.

For condition, please see photos. The illustration is framed.

A copy of Tatler and Bystander magazine, featuring this illustration, is included with the drawing.
