Story 

Shed never been one for jewellery. She much preferred the simple adornment of fresh flowers that she picked up during her walks through the forest or the stark elegance of a bare neck and ears. So when she was told that shed inherited all her grandmothers ancestral gold jewellery, it came as a surprise to her. She ignored the dusty wooden chest in the attic for months, until one afternoon, she decided to inspect its contents on a whim. The dull gold of several generations glistened back at her, in the pale afternoon sun. She saw not just ornaments, but precious memories “ the necklace that her grandmother had worn to her wedding, when she was a tender girl of 19, stepping outside her village for the very first time. She saw the conch-shaped earrings that had been a family heirloom, and were said to have been gifted to them by a mysterious traveller in exchange for their hospitality. She saw glimpses of hope, of trepidation, of love, of loss. And she realised why those jewels had been bequeathed to her.
