This work stages a rigorous conversation between radiant yellow planes and punctuating black voids, where the grid feels less like order than a scaffolding for disruption. Thick, tactile impasto turns each block into a small terrain, catching light unevenly so that the surface oscillates between certainty and abrasion. The intermittent black slits read like seams, fractures, or openings—suggesting a city of shutters or a coded language—inviting the viewer to sense structure as something continuously negotiated rather than fixed. In its restrained palette, the piece holds a charged optimism tempered by interruption, as if illumination must always pass through resistance to become visible.
