

The Dashavatara is a set of ten incarnations of Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. These avatars descend to restore cosmic order and have origins in Rigvedic texts. The term Dashavatara comes from the words dasa, meaning 'ten', and avatar, which means 'incarnation'.
