Dated 1986; signed with initials ‘PSD’ to the bottom edge

Diam. 10 cm

Good overall condition. Held in gold-coloured glazed frame. Please see photos. 

This miniature was exhibited at the Royal Academy (RA) by the artist in 1986 as number 487 in the showcase of miniatures in the small south room.  The title suggests an idyllic scene, but instead the artists has chosen to highlight the rubbish left behind by visitors.

Phoebe Sholto Douglas studied at Eastbourne College of Arts. She was a portrait miniaturist and enameller, and also taught.
