This artwork is part of a series titled 'The Eight Myths'. The hexagonal paintings in this series are rendered with a unique amalgam of local myths and fairy tales infused with fear and fun, that have been shared in rural areas since ages. To render the riddled narratives, Laxman Aelay has used folk and tribal art motifs and contours, by improvising and enhancing the imagery that he often sketches during leisure. What comes out of the paintings is the artistic freedom and simplified symbolism of complex oral narratives.
