This work stages an intimate architectural relic—a small arched window with weathered green shutters—against a field of ornamental shadows that feels both domestic and unsettled. The decorative floral pattern, interrupted by hairline cracks and assertive diagonal bars of red and green, turns the wall into a palimpsest where beauty is overruled by tension, as if history keeps pushing through the paint. Light gathers around the window’s frame like a hesitant halo, suggesting a threshold between refuge and exposure, while the surrounding darkness presses in, making the promise of interior life feel precarious and fleeting.
