Story

I dreamed of waking up. In the soft light of dawn, the dew sparkled on the moss green leaves. Patricias Pride blooms line the garden path with their elegant enthusiasm. The sky is a creamy white, and the essence of lilies fill my lungs with bliss. The earth around me wears her pride in hues of beige, white, and maroon that aimlessly awaken the natural green of the foliage.

This is a off-white coloured, handloom cotton, kimono sleeved overlay dress with beautiful Herringbone hand embroidery accents.

Description

Handloom cotton is a type of fabric that is woven using hand operated looms. Two sets of interlacing yarns, the warp (length) and weft (width), are woven on a mechanised loom operated by weavers. These looms do not use electricity. Human handling lends the fabrics a unique feel and renders the fabrics more value. The resultant fabric is softer and much more comfortable than machine-made fabrics. Handloom cotton is more breathable and thus feels lighter in summers and is perfect for layering in winters.

The art of hand weaving is labour intensive and takes a longer time. But, the beauty it adds to the fabric is priceless. Choosing handloom cotton supports the rich weaving heritage of India and lets the weavers carry on the precious art-form to the future generations as well.

The Herringbone hand-embroidery on the overlay garment is done by a group of beautiful women artisans at Suta. This dress has an easy-fit that allows space for freedom of movement, breathability and flow. This can be styled separately as well as part of an ensemble.
