This work stages a quiet triad of bodies—flattened into angular planes—where a chalky central whiteness anchors two figures in earthier reds and browns, as if intimacy and labor are held in the same breath. The rough, scumbled surface and visible under-drawing lend the scene a worn immediacy, turning skin and cloth into weathered terrain rather than polished portraiture. Composed in a compact, almost sheltering pyramid, the group reads less as individuals than as a shared condition: resilience pressed together, warmth smoldering against a muted, dusty field of light.
