This work stages a charged metamorphosis: a fish-bodied, winged guardian bearing a human visage floats against a fevered red field, as if myth itself is surfacing through the sediment of lived history. The composition pivots on the circular halo—part ornament, part shield—whose intricate patterning and embedded vignettes read like a portable city, suggesting identity as an architecture built from memory, labor, and inherited story. Above, a frieze of shifting faces in alternating warmth and grayscale becomes a chorus of selves, their gazes dissolving into the same urban linework that frames them, implicating the metropolis as both origin and pressure. Color operates as emotional temperature—red as urgency, green as protective ritual, gold as fragile radiance—holding the figure in a tense equilibrium between flight and drowning, transcendence and constraint.
