This stunning head of a horse is a rare and interesting find for the avid collector. Made of brass, the head is mounted on a wooden base. A display of excellent craftsmanship, the head is complete with intricate details like the bridle, reins and a crescent moon between the ears. Originally from South India, it would have most likely been part of a vahana (mount or vehicle) of a god. There is a small chip on one side of the crescent moon between the ears, otherwise, the piece is in good condition.
