INDIAN MARSH CROCODILE (Crocodylus palustris)
The Marsh Crocodile is mainly found in the freshwater ecosystems (marshes, lakes, rivers and artificial ponds). A very good swimmer, in the dry season they walk on the ground at night searching for water and remain submerged in the water throughout the day. Their population is threatened mostly by habitat destruction, including entanglement in fishnets.
