Bala Krishna

This beautiful bronze Bala (divine child) Krishna is from South India. Krishna is the god of compassion, tenderness, and love; and is one of the most popular and widely revered among Indian divinities. Krishna has an elaborate headdress and is adorned with numerous jewellery pieces including bracelets, anklets and necklaces. He also wears a molathadu, a sacred thread, around his waist. He is shown with a ball of ghee (butter), of which he was very fond, in his right hand.
