






The name 'Buddha' finds its origins in the word 'Buddhi', meaning intellect, in the ancient language Pali. The Buddha signifies an intellectual, knowledgeable or wise man.Β
Learning broadens the horizon of every mind, allowing it to see things from different points of view. New possibilities open up to spread the word of peace and harmony, in the true essence that Buddha advocated.
According to a United Nations report, quality education is the foundation for solving every challenge the world is facing today. This sculptural installation beautifully drives home the message about the importance of education for all.
The sculpture comprises of a brass Buddha figure, seated on a bed made out of 784 recycled paper pencils. The installation sits on a solid teakwood base with a thin brass trimming. The brass Buddha is detachable from the base, and the name of the artist is embossed on the brass trim.
