Mysore painting of Krishna by the artist K. S. Shreehari, born in 1968 at T. Narasipura near Mysore. Shreehari is a fourth-generation artist specializing in the pure Mysore style of painting, a tradition distinguished by intricate detailing, luminous colours, and the use of gesso for rich ornamental relief work.
A graduate of the University of Mysore, Shreehari has exhibited widely, with solo and group shows in Mumbai, Bangalore, Nagpur, Madras, and Belgium, as well as at the Festival of India exhibition in the United States. His work continues to uphold the classical Mysore tradition while bringing to it his own refinement and mastery.
