Chitrangi is the romantic heroine of Sarangadhara, a beloved drama in South Indian theatre, particularly known in its Telugu rendition, Vishada Sarangadhara (The Tragedy of Sarangadhara).Β
N. Gopala Rao was a self-taught painter from Andhra Pradesh. He worked during the British rule in South India, and achieved recognition for his paintings on Hindu epics, landscapes, and portraits of Maharajas and Maharanis of his days. He sent his works to Germany for oleographs to be made.
