A hand-tufted carpet in green wool with Suzani-inspired pattern, the embroidery vocabulary of Central Asia translated into pile construction. Suzani motifs β circular florals, bold stems, vine work, sunburst medallions β originated in the needlework traditions of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and this carpet borrows that graphic language while building it up in tufted wool rather than embroidered silk. Green grounds the pattern, the colour reading deeper than pastels but softer than jewel tones. Woven in Bhadohi or Mirzapur on hand-tufting looms in the Uttar Pradesh carpet tradition. Tufting builds a denser pile than flatweave, the yarn punched into a backing and finished from above. The technique sits between fine craft and architectural finish, suited to interiors where the floor needs both covering and pattern without overwhelming the room.
