Set in colonial India, this 1842 lithograph by J. Bouvier after W. Tayler captures the leisurely morning routine of a young Anglo-Indian civilian. Seated in a richly furnished room, he is attended by five Indian servants, each performing a distinct taskβcombing his hair, offering tea, presenting a mirror, and assisting with his footwear. A greyhound lounges by his side, while an umbrella bearer stands at attention, completing the scene of privilege and service.
These prints are printed on a fine quality ivory paper.
