This work stages an encounter between living color and fossilized devotion: the temple façade, dense with sculpted figures, reads like a vast stone manuscript whose narratives have outlasted their authors. Against this monochrome gravity, the scattered visitors—draped in saturated saris and casual shirts—become moving punctuation marks, momentarily animating the carvings’ silent procession. The blue scaffolding slices across the reliefs like a contemporary grid, suggesting both care and interruption, a reminder that preservation is itself a kind of translation between eras. Light falls evenly, allowing the eye to travel from present bodies to ancestral forms, where devotion, labor, and time collapse into a single, crowded wall of memory.
