This is an exquisite sculpture by French sculptor Marc Robert (1875-1962) of François Mahoux in Rodez. He attended the Ecole desBeaux-Arts de Paris, and was also a candidate for the Grand Prix Rome. After he was awarded the Cabrol Prize in 1917, after the First World war, Marc Robert saw orders pour in with the return of peace. This is how he sculpted the busts of the cyclist Thery in Pere-Lachaise, of Georges Sand in Montparnasse, and of the mayor of Rodez.
