Some fabrics look woven. Rangdhara looks painted.
The horizontal bands of colour β red, orange, mustard, teal, pink β don't end where they should. They blur, they bleed at the edges, they flow into each other the way colours do when they're truly alive. This is gamcha cotton woven with section-dyed threads, so the colour itself becomes part of the weave. The result is a dress that looks different in every light, from every angle.
A solid red yoke anchors the top. Below it, the colour streams down through the full button placket, through the tiered A-line body, all the way to the generous flounce hem. Three-quarter sleeves carry the same flowing colour. The whole dress moves.
Wear it with flat juttis and a layered bead necklace β earthy, rooted, and completely in conversation with the craft.
