The work stages a densely patterned procession of figures whose black silhouettes, laced with meticulous white incisions, feel both celebratory and weightyβbodies becoming vessels for ornament, memory, and inherited ritual. A stark red field behind them reads like a pulse or ceremonial backdrop, compressing space so that movement becomes rhythmic rather than linear, as if the scene is meant to be remembered more than witnessed. The repeated motifs and textile-like geometry create a visual chant: individuality persists in small variations of posture and adornment, yet the collective presence speaks louder, suggesting community as both shelter and obligation. Light is not modeled through shading but through the very act of mark-making, turning every cut line into a filament of vitality that animates the figures from within.
