Lakadong Turmeric is a special turmeric variety from a place called 'Lakadong', in Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya. It is known for its medicinal qualities. This variety of turmeric has a high curcumin content of 7-9% as compared to 2-3% in the normal turmeric powder. It has a bright yellow colour which gives a rich and appealing colour to the food.
