Multicolour Chindi Dhurrie, Hand-Woven, 3 × 5 ft

A hand-woven chindi dhurrie in multicolor — recycled fabric strips woven into a flatweave ground. Chindi dhurries are made from salvaged cotton and textile off-cuts, the strips torn and woven on traditional looms in the Bhadohi or Mirzapur belt. The multicolor palette — blues, reds, yellows, greens — comes from the fabric itself, each dhurrie unique to the scraps available at the time of weaving. Dhurries are woven flat without pile, lighter than knotted carpets, easier to clean. The chindi technique reads textured and layered, with slight variation in thickness where fabric strips overlap. Suited to high-traffic areas. Cotton and blended textiles, flatweave.
