A hand-woven wool dhurrie in black with Aztec-inspired geometry β the stepped diamond motifs laid in horizontal kilim bands across a flatweave ground. Dhurries are woven flat without pile, lighter than knotted carpets, easier to move and clean. The Aztec pattern β bold stepped forms in tonal black β draws from Central American textile traditions but is executed in the Uttar Pradesh flatweave vocabulary. Woven in Bhadohi or Mirzapur by dhurrie artisans working in the kilim tradition. The black-on-black tonal work reads monochrome but gains depth from the woven texture. Suited to contemporary interiors where pattern stays restrained. 100% wool, flatweave.
