She was infuriated. Why was she being made to walk so many miles and climb huge mountains for a faith she did not even believe in? They had been up before sunrise, after completing the ascend to the infamous Mansarovar, said to be the purest and most pious lake in the world. œHow much longer? she kept asking her father.
But then, beyond a particularly treacherous bend, they lay eyes on the stunning spectacle that the lake truly was. It seemed as through the skies had descended to meet them. A glass-like stretch of blue spanned the space between two peaks. And in that moment, she felt it. Like a scent, it crept up on her. She did not need to believe in spirituality.
