Where the other Yusufi in this collection leads with red, this one leads with navy β a deep, grounded indigo field that creates a completely different kind of presence in a room. At the centre, a large medallion composition in ivory and cream rises against the dark ground, its geometric forms precise and confident, while smaller matching medallions anchor the four corners. The border moves in warm dusky rose β an unexpected softness that prevents the carpet from becoming severe.
Wool on cotton, hand-knotted in Mazar-e-Sharif at 110 knots per square inch. At 6.6 Γ 5.1 feet, it is among the larger pieces in this collection β the kind of carpet that determines the room.
