This is a beautiful old Mysore School painting of ‘Kodanda Rama’. Kodanda means ‘one who holds the bow’. The painting is thus titled as it shows Lord Rama holding a bow. Also shown in the painting are Rama’s consort Sita, his brother Lakshman (also holding a bow) and Hanuman. In the sky above is Ravana’s vehicle pushpakavimana, which Rama used to return to Ayodhya after he won the battle against Ravana.
