While a vast majority of reverse glass paintings in India depicted subjects from Hinduism, as they were created in South India, a few focused on other subjects. This rare reverse glass painting from central India shows Kaaba at Mecca. The Kaaba (cube) is a building at the centre of Islam's most important mosque, the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is considered the most sacred site in Islam. Muslims consider it the House of God, and pray in its direction when performing salah.
The inscription on the top reads "Makkah Madinah" in Urdu.
